Founded on the philosophy of innovation through collaboration, Fender Katsalidis has evolved from a Melbourne-centric architectural practice, to a highly awarded, multi-disciplinary international design firm whose work now influences built environment thinking across the globe.

Specialists in multi-residential, cultural, commercial, aged care and hotel typologies, we seek and deliver holistic solutions in architecture, masterplanning, urban design and interiors—solutions notable not only for their design quality, but also their civic contribution and economic mindfulness.

To ensure such outcomes remain our hallmark—and expose the practice to new and different ways of thinking—we frequently bring together local and international consultant teams to work side-by-side with our own.

The quest for holistic solutions has also driven us to extend our expertise far beyond the expected. Fender Katsalidis was a pioneer, and remains a leader, in 3D virtual modelling and building information systems, while the Unitised Building system invented by practice co-founder, Nonda Katsalidis, continues to revolutionise construction timeframes and costs.

Perhaps best known for our definitive tall building and public realm design, we are equally proud of our lesser profile achievements: the documentation and quality assurance processes, for example, regarded as the gold standard throughout the construction industry.

As sophisticated as our technology may be, and as reliable as our processes have proven themselves, we know that ultimately it’s experience that ensures the original design vision is realised. Our directors thus remain ‘hands on’ with every project from inception to completion.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER MELBOURNE

Fender Katsalidis is a leading architecture and design studio known for delivering large-scale projects throughout Australia and Asia. We have studios located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane employing more than 150 people.

 

We are currently seeking a Graphic designer to join our national Marketing team. The role has a national focus and will be key in assisiting in the growth of Studios across Australia. Of course you will have a passion for design and the following....

 

Skills

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud:
  • InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and MS office
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, changes to priorities and nail deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal paired with strong problem-solving skills.

 

Experience 

  • Tertiary education in Graphic Design / Visual Communications.
  • Experience in a similar role is looked highly upon

 

Role

  • Maintaining and creating graphic content for company social media including Instagram (including working with the social media team to plan upcoming content and brainstorm ideas);
  • Design and management of project information sheets and other collateral and for maintenance of website;
  • Compilation of Requests for Tender, Expressions of Interest and Design Competitions;
  • Prepare consistent on-brand marketing materials and graphic assets as required, both print and digital, from concept to finished artwork; capability statements, brochures, reports, proposals, presentations etc;
  • Graphic design for marketing and business development activities such as conferences and events (i.e. invitations, signage, etc)
  • Happy to work in a team environment under creative direction.
  • Ability to create design work from conception through to production.
  • A love for design, typography and art direction is a must.
  • Illustration or photography skills a bonus.
  • Ensure all projects are held to a high standard and delivered on time.
  • Push the creative boundaries and be open to experimenting with concepts and creativity within existing brand guidelines.

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT MELBOURNE

Fender Katsalidis is a leading architecture and design studio known for delivering large-scale projects throughout Australia and Asia.  We have studios located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane employing more than 150 people.

We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to join our national finance team.  The successful candidate will be integral to the smooth running of the accounting team and the budgeted commercial outcomes of our company. 

Reporting to our head of finance and using our fully integrated ERP system, Deltek Vantagepoint, you will work closely with senior leaders to initiate and plan project financials, analyse and report project financial performance, and then manage billings, collections and reconcilations.

Other specific requirements of the role include:

  • preparing accurate reports for project performance analysis
  • maintaining project fee revenue forecasts, billings schedules and budgets
  • monitoring revenue trends and work in progress
  • liaising with project leaders in preparation for routine invoicing process
  • debtor monitoring, reporting and follow up
  • creditor payment overview, monitoring and reporting
  • setting-up and maintaining project financial information and records
  • assisting with statutory reporting requirements, as required
  • assisting with month-end accounting processes and other financial or administrative tasks as reasonably required.

Our ideal candidate will be qualified in a relevant course of accounting or financial and will have an appropriate combination of skills and experience in the following areas :

  • a project accounting background involving time and materials based billings procedures
  • experience in a professional services workplace
  • experience with enterprise resourcing platforms such as Deltek, BST or a similar software solutions
  • experience with analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI Analytics or equivalent
  • Competency in the use of MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint and other Office 365 applications;
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail with an analytical approach to problem solving
  • The ability to work as a trusted and reliable member of a team;
  • a confident and motivated approach to work and professional development
  • an ability to work in a flexible environment and cope with change while maintaining essential governance routines

This role is initially a one-year full-time temporary contract of employment to cover a period of parental leave. Subject to certain conditions there may be an opportunity to convert the position to an ongoing permanent role at the end of the initial term.

OFFICE MANAGER MELBOURNE

We’re an award-winning design studio known for delivering meaningful projects across urban design, architecture and interiors.

Due to role progression of the incumbent we are looking for a commercial savvy, personable and enthusiastic Office/Studio Manager to embrace the day-to-day management of our 100+ team and attend to a diverse range of responsibilities that include: 

 

  • Collaborating with studio leadership on a range of operational, finance and administrative requirements
  • Oversee front-of-house (reception) and lead and coordinate local business support team
  • Encourage compliance to plan profitable project outcomes through driving team resource planning within revenue forecasts
  • Oversee and authorise office expenditure within set budgets
  • Coordinate local HR activities and processes
  • Maintain and encourage compliance with studio processes and collaborate on the development of better business practices
  • Maintain a professional and safe work environment for all team members
  • Promote a culture based upon the values of efficiency, creativity, flexibility and world-class quality

Our ideal candidate will have a proactive and intuitive approach to supporting project-based creative teams in a design studio. This person is professionally presented and has all the essentials covered in communication, prioritisation of tasks and problem solving.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER SYDNEY

As a designer, you will have a developing eye for design and the ability to workshop perspectives and views that express the essence and impact of the proposed built form.

Professionally, you can demonstrate experience across a range of project typologies such as commercial, high-rise, multi-residential, hotel and seniors living.

Practically, you have strength in the areas of sketch composition, design development, CAD design and documentation and client presentation packages. A complimentary 3D technical skillset also sees you comfortable operating in either Revit and/or ArchiCAD and other design-based applications.
