Founded on the philosophy of innovation through collaboration, Fender Katsalidis has evolved from a Melbourne-centric architectural practice, to a highly awarded, multi-disciplinary international design firm whose work now influences built environment thinking across the globe.

Specialists in multi-residential, cultural, commercial, aged care and hotel typologies, we seek and deliver holistic solutions in architecture, masterplanning, urban design and interiors—solutions notable not only for their design quality, but also their civic contribution and economic mindfulness.

To ensure such outcomes remain our hallmark—and expose the practice to new and different ways of thinking—we frequently bring together local and international consultant teams to work side-by-side with our own.

The quest for holistic solutions has also driven us to extend our expertise far beyond the expected. Fender Katsalidis was a pioneer, and remains a leader, in 3D virtual modelling and building information systems, while the Unitised Building system invented by practice co-founder, Nonda Katsalidis, continues to revolutionise construction timeframes and costs.

Perhaps best known for our definitive tall building and public realm design, we are equally proud of our lesser profile achievements: the documentation and quality assurance processes, for example, regarded as the gold standard throughout the construction industry.

As sophisticated as our technology may be, and as reliable as our processes have proven themselves, we know that ultimately it’s experience that ensures the original design vision is realised. Our directors thus remain ‘hands on’ with every project from inception to completion.

The emergence of Fender Katsalidis as a global, design-led practice is as much a measure of our culture, as it is our creativity.

A true design studio, we solve problems collaboratively: one team, comprising many points of view, approaches, levels of experience and areas of specialist knowledge — augmented where required by best-of-breed consultants — all focused on realising the best possible client outcome.

EMPLOYMENT

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT SYDNEY

Fender Katsalidis is seeking a confident and motivated professional to join our Sydney studio in the role of Project Accountant.

Suited to a candidate seeking to work in a creative studio, the role involves liaising with project leaders to analyse and report on project performance, establish and maintain project budgets and ongoing project plans, monthly project invoicing and revenue recognition processing.

Other responsibilities include debtor monitoring and reporting, month-end project reporting and analysis and maintaining project financial information and data including forecast fees and budgets.

The role involves collaborating closely with our Melbourne-based finance team to ensure accurate and timely project accounting and reporting. Ongoing training and support will be provided to the successful applicant.

Our ideal candidate will have an accounting background and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional services environment.  Proven skill in Excel, Word and experience in the practical use of an accounting system is required, BST Enterprise preferred. 

FK offers a friendly and team-focussed environment. We look forward to welcoming the right individual to support our talented and dedicated team. This is a full-time role 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.  Salary will be negotiated with reference to applicant’s own skills and experience.

IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN SYDNEY

Fender Katsalidis is looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Sydney studio in the newly-created role of IT Support Technician.  

Reporting to our Melbourne-based IT Manager, and with support from various service providers; the primary focus of this role is level 1 and 2 user desktop and network administration support to the Sydney professional team. 

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • User desktop troubleshooting and help desk support; 
  • AV troubleshooting; 
  • End-user hardware and software installation as directed; 
  • Workstation configuration and portable device set-ups;
  • Maintaining logs of user requests and resolution;  
  • User level basic training and IT induction; 
  • Back-up and archiving procedures; and
  • Maintaining local equipment log and assets list. 

Daily interaction with users requires timely, effective and friendly written and verbal communication skills. 

Our ideal candidate will have approximately 2 years of experience in a desktop support role.  We are seeking an applicant who is proactive, willing to learn and with the ability to deal well under pressure while maintaining a positive, friendly and professional attitude and approach.    

Certificate or diploma level qualifications in IT will be highly regarded.  Training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.
