A faceted sculptural grid in bold concrete gives the recently completed Lakeside residential development its unique expression. Opportunities to maximise views for residents created floorplans where all of the apartments angle and crank with the view.

By exaggerating the plan shape of the building within, a beautiful sculptural grid across the building was created, which gives it its form.

The result provides for 159 luxurious apartments over 12 storeys. Concrete is celebrated as a material – in the vivid double-height sculptural super grid that runs across the building, and in the use of coloured precast panels. Contrasting with the lightly coloured structural grid, the panels harmonise with dark window frames and louvres to create a visually arresting exterior.

That robust exterior contrasts with the development’s well-appointed interiors, communal areas and landscaped outdoor spaces. All apartments feature European oak timber flooring and natural stone throughout the kitchens and bathrooms.

Lakeside runs through from Queens Road to Queens Lane and an outdoor dining area and swimming pool sit on the sunny northeast side nearer the lane. This is directly adjacent to an internal private dining room and chef’s kitchen, offering its residents excellent entertaining options. The poolside landscaping, as well as that on the generous balconies throughout the development, was completed by Oculus Landscape Architecture and Urban Design.

A grand entrance on Queens Road features a porte cochere, which allows residents to experience the pleasure and convenience of being picked up or dropped off at the door. The stylish lobby combines a travertine tiled floor, polished onyx and decorative plaster on the walls, and bronze-patina doorways. A residents’ library is also included in the development, giving the occupants a quiet setting to relax and engage with their neighbours.
