Adam is an architect and urbanist whose design visions bridge the gap between large-scale and human-scale environments. As an Associate with Fender Katsalidis, he strives to challenge the norm wherever possible, while delivering rational designs that engage with their economic reality.
Adam enjoys collaborating with project leaders and interacting with clients and stakeholders. His speedy rendering capabilities and high-level design solutions help to realise concepts as sold ideas and into new projects.
Formative work and study in the Netherlands cultivated Adam’s appreciation for well-considered urban design, pedestrian friendly precincts and precisely detailed, thermally efficient built outcomes.
Since joining FK, Adam has progressed from construction beginnings to finding himself immersed in facade detailing and documentation with Melbourne Airport Hotel, as well as contributing to the concept and schematic design at EastCo, a commercial development in Ringwood. Likening the scale of some projects at FK to small cities, Adam has gravitated towards more complex masterplanning and precinctual work such as Doonside Yards in Richmond and Southgate in Southbank.
With the knowledge he’s acquired working alongside other accomplished architects, Adam tutors architectural design at the University of Melbourne, mentoring young talent and exploring different methodologies in the process.
