Nonda is regarded as a pioneer of central Melbourne’s early nineties urbanisation; his profound design ability—notable for its inventive integration of art, architecture, placemaking and public realm—providing the catalyst for a social and cultural transformation that continues to this day.

Typified by a high level of enquiry and design sophistication, his design is invariably engaging and compelling, yet as a commercial solution, always succeeds in bridging the gap between architectural ideal and financial reality.

A constant, ever evolving theme of his work has been ‘the search for better’; a pursuit that has seen Nonda totally committed for almost a decade, to developing new, more sustainable construction technologies that enable projects of any scale and typology to be delivered with far greater efficiency, in significantly shorter time.

Recognised by the Australian Institute of Architects through numerous awards and distinctions—including the prestigious, Victorian Architecture Medal—Nonda’s contribution as architect, innovator and mentor has been pivotal to the maturing of the practice, and its emergence as a highly respected, international design firm.
