Fender Katsalidis delivers design excellence. Revered in the industry as pioneers of the built environment, our practice delivers exemplary projects across urban design, architecture, and interior design disciplines.
We are devoted to making quality contributions to the fabric of our cities that are innovative, sustainable and enduring.
People are at the heart of our practice. With over 25 years of experience as industry leaders, our approach to architecture stems from the desire to consciously shape the future of our cities and the lives of those who live, work and transition through them. Through a deep respect for people, experience, culture and collaboration, our work is the result of a collective passion and drive to positively shape the built environment. Through our rigorous approach and applied methodology, we strive to deliver well-balanced design outcomes for every project, large or small, that fulfil our clients objectives and meaningfully impact our cities.
Bold and innovative, our interior design practice is driven by a desire to create memorable environments. Our approach is focused on experience and human-led design outcomes, and the belief that a well-designed space should reflect the people who use it. Experts in our field, we seek to create transformative experiences that respond to our client’s needs, brief, and ambitions, believing that good design directly influences how we experience space.
Our values around culture, sustainability and the environment foster FK’s vision for urban design. We pride ourselves on our expertise in delivering successful urban design outcomes, including NewActon Precinct and Central Place Sydney. Through a deep understanding of placemaking and rigorous research, we seek solutions for the spaces and cities we inhabit.
Our urban design expertise spans various scales and complexity, from street blocks to cities to regions, delivering profound socioeconomic benefits. Fender Katsalidis' experienced approach to urban design is applied by identifying the site context and characteristics, and understanding precincts' potential influence to the community and environment.
We are experts in adaptive reuse and the exploration and implementation of innovative processes needed to reuse existing buildings. We recognise that as designers, we directly influence the consumption of resources in the construction industry and acknowledge the responsibility we have in shaping our cities for generations to come. Adaptive reuse is an important evidence-based method to reduce environmental impacts in the built environment, and we are industry leaders in this field with a portfolio of projects that are celebrated for their environmental and socio-economic successes.
Our sustainability values are intrinsically linked to how we work. Proudly, Fender Katsalidis’ operations are Carbon Neutral. Back in 2019, we made the pledge to move our office Carbon Neutral and we did just that. We are NoCO2 certified, and we are also working towards ensuring all buildings we design are Carbon Neutral ready by 2025.
We work with the Carbon Reduction Institute to ensure we offset our operation's carbon emissions annually. Our business operations are audited to capture the amount of greenhouse gas we emit. The data from these audits are invaluable, providing insights into how we can decrease our carbon emissions. Following this, we invest in projects that sequester an equivalent amount to offset our emissions.
