We are looking for students ready to jump into whichever role is required in the studio. A student of architecture is someone still studying either their Bachelor or Master of Architecture, while a student of interior design will be studying a formal interior design qualification. At FK, we don’t expect our students to know everything but are willing to learn and grow. We want students with a great attitude, a good design eye, and a passion for the built environment.

Studio Coordinator

Fender Katsalidis is seeking a motivated Studio Coordinator to join our Business Support team.

This important role will involve:

  • Reporting to the National Project Operations Manager you will work in close collaboration with the local studio admin team & wider national team to provide dedicated support to the studio, assist with the day-to-day general office operations, and promote a thriving workplace culture.
  • Crafting an outstanding front of house experience with a high level of attention to detail in all areas, especially with respect to our client and visitor experience.
  • Having impeccable presentation, friendly and professional communication skills, and the ability to host and interact with visitors, including staff, suppliers and clients on a variety of levels in an accommodating and conscientious manner.

And as our next Studio Coordinator you will:

  • Provide representation at the reception desk and timely response to phone calls and inquiries;
  • Coordinate bookings for all FK hosted meetings;
  • Meet and greet of visitors, attend to their needs and provide refreshments;
  • Troubleshoot and maintain company phone and boardroom AV systems;
  • Maintain a presentable studio – set-up/pack-up and attentive throughout the day to reception and boardroom spaces, kitchenette, print and supply areas.
  • Coordinate and maintain reliable reception functions – couriers, distribution of mail, catering etc.
  • Maintain and order stationery and office supplies routinely;
  • Assist with the induction of new team members including workstation set-ups for new and relocating staff;
  • Assisting with the management of company emails, responding to general inquiries as appropriate;
  • Assisting with the coordination of office appointments and services maintenance;
  • Responding to minor premises and equipment issues and coordination of their resolution;
  • Oversee and maintain the facility management records to meet our leasing requirements;
  • Assist with organising staff functions and events hosted by the studio and its team members;
  • Assist with arranging and booking travel plans, including liaison with travel agents;
  • Assist with Accounts Payable administration tasks;
  • Assist with coordinating supplier presentations and upkeep of the studio’s product library;
  • Coordinate and/or attend to a range of ad-hoc or out of office errands on behalf of the studio and its team members.

Senior Project Accountant

FK is seeking a people and financially focused Senior Project Accountant to join our national team, located in Melbourne.

We are an award-winning architectural firm with studios also in Sydney and Brisbane. Our teams have designed landmark, commercial, cultural and high-rise residential developments across Australia and Asia. We have some of Melbourne’s tallest, most recognizable buildings and a recently completed super tall tower in Malaysia, among others.

This role will interface with FK team members at all levels of the business. We are looking for someone friendly and ready to help with anything that pops up.

Reporting to our Finance Lead and working as a key role in our finance team, this person will need to be ready to support our project leaders with financial elements of their projects including invoicing, analysis and debtor management. This role is an end-to-end Senior Project Accounting role supporting our landmark projects through their dynamic and interesting lifecycles.

The main elements of this role include:

  • Maintaining project revenue forecasts, billing schedules and project phase budgets.
  • Project labour and expense budgeting, monitoring, reporting and control.
  • Revenue recognition processing, review, reporting and WIP management within policy guidelines.
  • Debtor management, monitoring and follow-up.
  • Maintaining accurate project information within the company’s ERP system.
  • Professional fee and disbursement invoice creation.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of in-house group training sessions on project financial control.
  • Regular project reporting and assisting with report design and dashboard enhancements.
  • Consulting and liaising with key people and provide astute guidance in relation to project performance and planning.
  • Assisting with month-end project accounting processes as required.

As our next Senior Project Accountant, you will:

  • Have a strong interest in project management methods as well as general company accounting concepts.
