BIM Manager

We’re an award-winning design firm with offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and landmark developments across Australia and Asia. Our successful candidate will work to improve the interoperability of BIM within the business. The BIM Manager will have a long-term goal of making us an industry leader in BIM and Revit within the Architectural industry. They will work to raise the overall capabilities of the business by improving the skills of individual software users as well as monitoring and standardising our Revit outputs.

This important role will involve:

  • Leading the development and implementation of Revit strategy at FK according to openBIM standards.
  • Leading the wider team with Revit technical support, motoring and training where required.
  • Creating an agreed framework to improve BIM implementation and interoperability across the business.
  • Developing, managing, and improving FK’s BIM delivery capabilities in conjunction with software/hardware platforms.
  • Optimising the efficiency and quality of the firm’s design processes, documentation processes and deliverables through continuous improvement of the BIM systems.
  • Managing, maintaining, and overseeing the implementation of the Revit Library to ensure in-house productivity including, when required, creating new families as well as, monitoring and editing pre-existing families.
  • Dynamo knowledge is required to support and improve current automation tools and to further develop new ones as required.

This exciting career opportunity is a permanent, full-time role. Relevant qualifications in Architecture, Design or BIM management are preferred. Experience with C++, Python or open-source applications and add-ons for Revit will be highly regarded.

FK is seeking a passionate Studio Coordinator to join our Business Support team in our Melbourne studio.

Studio Coordinator

FK is seeking a motivated Studio Coordinator to join our Business Support team in our Sydney studio.

This important role will involve:

  • Reporting to the National Project Operations Manager you will work in close collaboration with the local studio admin team & wider national team to provide dedicated support to the studio, assist with the day-to-day general office operations, and promote a thriving workplace culture.
  • Crafting an outstanding front of house experience with a high level of attention to detail in all areas, especially with respect to our client and visitor experience.
  • Having impeccable presentation, friendly and professional communication skills, and the ability to host and interact with visitors, including staff, suppliers and clients on a variety of levels in an accommodating and conscientious manner.

And as our next Studio Coordinator you will:

  • Provide representation at the reception desk and timely response to phone calls and inquiries;
  • Coordinate bookings for all FK hosted meetings;
  • Meet and greet of visitors, attend to their needs and provide refreshments;
  • Troubleshoot and maintain company phone and boardroom AV systems;
  • Maintain a presentable studio – set-up/pack-up and attentive throughout the day to reception and boardroom spaces, kitchenette, print and supply areas.

  • Maintain and order stationery and office supplies routinely;
  • Assist with the induction of new team members including workstation set-ups for new and relocating staff;

  • Responding to minor premises and equipment issues and coordination of their resolution;
  • Oversee and maintain the facility management records to meet our leasing requirements;

  • Utilizing key architectural skills such as concept planning, sketch design, design development, consultant coordination etc. to contribute to FK’s wide range of projects.
  • Using your construction knowledge to produce documentation to a high standard when required, or to assist those team members who need assistance in producing documentation.
  • Attendance on site including working with clients, builders, and consultants whilst on site to maintain FK’s design standards.
  • Partnering with external consultants to get the best outcomes for the client and the project.
  • Researching, understanding, and complying with relevant building codes and standards, including safe design principles.
  • Adhering to all relevant QA and office standards in the execution of your work.

A student of architecture is someone still studying either their Bachelor or Master of Architecture, while a student of interior design will be studying a formal interior design qualification. At FK, we don’t expect our students to know everything but are willing to learn and grow. We want students with a great attitude, a good design eye, and a passion for the built environment.
