The weekend provided an opportunity for the public to experience two significant FK projects that are shaping the future of living in Melbourne, while fostering important conversations around housing, community and density.

Melbourne Quarter: Grand Opening Tour

FK’s Freya Robinson and the wider project team welcomed visitors to Melbourne Quarter, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the West Tower residential offering, Australia’s largest build-to-rent tower.

The tour showcased how Melbourne Quarter has set a new benchmark for rental living through its scale, design quality and strong focus on community in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. Visitors explored how large-scale residential development can be combined with thoughtfully curated amenities, meaningful social connections and a long-term commitment to rental quality, creating an exceptional living experience for residents.

Local: Box Hill

FK also opened the doors to Local: Box Hill, the award-winning build-to-rent community developed by Golden Age Group and Local: Residential, positioned above SKY SQR in the heart of Box Hill.

Designed around the idea that renting can be a considered, long-term lifestyle choice, Local: Box Hill brings together housing, culture, amenity and community within one of Melbourne’s most connected suburban centres.

A highlight of the event was the panel discussion featuring FK’s Nicky Drobis, alongside Loren Thanyakittikul from Local: Residential and representatives from Studio Perspective. The discussion explored how thoughtful density, mixed-use development and community-focused design can contribute to more vibrant and resilient suburban centres.
