This next stage in the joint venture between Cox and Fender Katsalidis for 3L Alliance includes the second 80-storey residential building that will sit above a mixed-use 5-level podium. The two towers have been shaped and sculpted by design drivers within and around the site. They step as they ascend, forming a dynamic pairing on Melbourne’s continuously evolving skyline.

Using a fine grain of public connections and amenity paired with taller elements of urbane city proportions; the masterplan intends to redefine the site and create an activated, connected and enlivened precinct.

Located next to the Queen Victoria Market Precinct, the design aims to enrich the ground plane with new connections and permeability with the public realm. The podium will include a variety of uses such as retail, childcare and commercial tenancies within the podium levels to contribute to Melbourne’s diverse civic offering. Once completed, Queens Place Precinct will link La Trobe Street to Queen Street with a new thoroughfare, crossing through the podium floorplate.
