Summer Foundation is an organisation that works to expand the range and scale of housing options for people living in or at risk of admission to aged care. Summer Housing was created by the Summer Foundation, a notfor-profit organisation with a mission to change human service policy and practice related to young people in aged care.

The development was identified early on as a potential Summer Housing option with Republic’s central location to public transport, services, and resources that would benefit tenants. The proximity enables greater capacity for residents to be independent, which is a key focus for Summer Housing.

The ten apartments are custom designed to meet SDA requirements (including Liveable Housing Australia’s Platinum certification) and include customisable smart home technologies. These dwellings offer a high-quality option and tremendous social inclusion that empowers tenants to live successfully within their community, increasing their independence, choice, and control.
