Fender Katsalidis prepared a masterplan for Temasya, a new village development in Kuala Lumpur. At the heart of the development is a generous public park. It is a local recreational destination and the focus of pedestrian activity; activated by boutique retail, bars, restaurants and cafes.
A spine of abundant planting runs through the entire scheme, occurring on multiple levels and inhabited by intimate gardens, sheltered spaces, water elements, pedestrian bridges and pavilions.
The spine grants light, ventilation and wayfinding to the visitor carpark below and a richly layered landscape above. It is the point of arrival for pedestrians from the north and for visitors arriving via the carpark.
Bounding the perimeter, hard paving provides emergency vehicle access and a clear frontage to the retail tenancies which surround it.
