Daniel Goldin is an architect with a superb technological mindset and a passion for developing and presenting design ideas.
Since joining the practice in 2005, Daniel has worked on many key projects including Mona in Hobart, 2 National Circuit in Canberra and Merdeka118 in Kuala Lumpur. He was the supertall project’s CAD leader, and his involvement has seen him participate in almost every aspect of its development, from contributing to shaping building envelopes at podium level and presenting design to the client at early stages, to technical coordination with consultants involved and responding to requests for information during construction. He also presented a behind the scenes look at the tower for Graphisoft’s premiere of Archicad24, of which it is the signature project.
Daniel received his master’s degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, as well as separate degree in Software Engineering while in his native Ukraine. Adept at working through structural and mechanical details, he is instinctively drawn to technical components like scripting and rendering, which has earned him the reputation as the resident ‘Archicad Guru’ within the practice.
Daniel is grateful to have the opportunity to participate in shaping such highly notable buildings around the world and takes privilege in being able to contribute to a once-in-a-lifetime, legacy project like Merdeka118. He envisions a great future for the team and himself, one day perhaps designing the world’s tallest building.
