This crafted building is rich in texture and detail and is a living, residential urban sanctuary and elegant sculptural addition to Melbourne’s Boulevard.  

Fender Katsalidis aims to enrich the current landscape of through a building that is composed of a calm and refined rhythm of grids which shift in scale and materiality. 

The contemporary expression of the grids, which create a legible urban form, frame a more intricate level of detail within, which includes metallic filigree screens and planter boxes and combine to create a building which reads successfully at a number of levels along the boulevard. 

In terms of streetscape and urban form, a strong sense of symmetry, civic character and charm is foregrounded by the site’s natural and socio-historical context.  

The building acts as both a link in the broader gateway experience leading to the Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne CBD and its gardens; whilst simultaneously providing a high amenity green living environment for an increasing residential population, with 148 apartments over its 20 storeys.
