Falk’s knowledge of building technologies and on-site fundamentals have given him an inherent understanding of the complexities associated with projects of all scales and typologies.

Initially working as a bricklayer in his native Germany, Falk’s background in structural engineering combined with qualifications in architecture has seen him involved in many sides of development. As a result, the appreciation Falk gained for the skillset and knowledge that builders possess has informed his ability to design more efficient buildings and achieve better outcomes.

His beginnings with Fender Katsalidis started upon his arrival in Australia when he saw Eureka Tower, leading to him joining the project team. Twenty years on with the practice, Falk has worked on many complex projects including Mona, Nishi and Yarra One, which have all made significant contributions to their cultural landscape and urban environment.

As a principal with Fender Katsalidis, Falk integrates new ideas and systems into his projects, ensuring that the quality of each is taken through to the last detail. His decades of experience have allowed him to take on greater responsibility, while still finding time to mentor others. His approach and commitment are reflected in the quality of his teams’ documentation packages, which are regarded as among the best in the industry.
