For Syireen, architecture offers a bit of everything, with inspiration found just about everywhere. As an emerging architect, she prefers doing many things at once, gaining as much experience as possible.

Her ability to make things work despite given constraints has ensured she has left her mark on everything from design competitions to concept designs and apartment fitouts. However, she remains most confident within the construction stage of projects given her coordination skills and focus on getting things built.

Prior to joining FK as a graduate in 2017, Syireen completed both her Bachelor of Architectural Design and Master of Architecture at RMIT in Melbourne. Her background also includes a year and a half working on masterplanning, commercial projects and smaller-scale architecture in her native Malaysia, which also led to her early interior design experience.

Syireen’s role with FK has placed her on front-end teams for Flinders Bank and Midtown Centre. When designing for common areas and apartments, the interiors are as much about meaning as they are appearance. In addition to dwellings, Syireen also assists with other areas of need including base builds and amenities.

If given a blank canvas, Syireen won’t hesitate to take it on, delivering new designs with methodical detail.
