Johnson is an architect who sees the big picture and minutiae with equal acuity. Focused, efficient and seemingly inexhaustible, his ever-evolving skillset, leadership qualities, and ability to multitask with speed, accuracy and creativity make him an integral member of the Fender Katsalidis team.

Gaining his Masters of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning and Design at the University of Melbourne, Johnson joined the practice in 2010. Working firstly in conceptual design, he has progressively expanded his expertise to encompass the full spectrum of early phase activities, as well as documentation and, more recently, project delivery.

Admired for his collaborative approach and encyclopaedic project knowledge, Johnson’s capacity to balance design stewardship with sensitivity to client requirements, invariably results in smart, practical solutions that accommodate the needs of all.

Particularly fascinated by residential typologies, he has made major contributions to a diverse range of apartment and mixed-use schemes in both Australia and South East Asia. Among them are Fulton Lane in the Melbourne CBD, Ivanhoe Apartments, and 1 Shiel Street in North Melbourne. Johnson also worked on the Levantine Hill Cellar Door project in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, and is currently involved in designing the winery’s new production facility.
